The supermodel joins a growing list of famous faces as L’Oréal Paris's new global ambassador

Kendall Jenner has major beauty news—and no, she’s not launching her own line of products, like her famous sisters Kim and Kylie. Instead, the supermodel is joining L’Oréal Paris as the brand’s newest global ambassador.

“I’m so looking forward to immersing myself in this iconic brand and joining this sisterhood of such strong and powerful women,” she tells Harper’s Bazaar in an exclusive interview. “Having the chance to embody the ‘I’m worth it’ mantra and remind women everywhere of their worth is something I am so excited by and don’t take for granted.”

Jenner joins other famous faces—including Kate Winslet, Eva Longoria, Elle Fanning, and Viola Davis—as the brand’s newest ambassador. L’Oréal Paris credits Jenner’s strong sense of self and ability to inspire others as key to the partnership. “At any other time, Kendall Jenner might have been as successful as she is now, but her worth and her choices and her image might have been defined or even controlled by others. But nobody defines Kendall Jenner but Kendall Jenner,” L’Oréal Paris global president Delphine Viguier-Hovasse said in a statement.

This isn’t Jenner’s first foray into beauty. She’s fronted numerous fragrance campaigns, and was the face of Estée Lauder from 2014 to 2017. She also teamed up with her sisters for a KKW Fragrance collaboration and a Kylie Cosmetics collaboration. But this new gig will put Jenner’s face in thousands of drugstores and make her supermodel glow ultra-accessible. (In May, she was spotted wearing all L’Oréal Paris products at this year’s Met Gala.)

In the exclusive ahead, Jenner tells Bazaar.com about her first encounter with the beloved brand, her beauty philosophy, and what she always picks up at her local drugstore.

My first memory of L’Oréal Paris is playing around with my mom’s makeup and seeing L’Oréal Paris lipsticks in her makeup bag. I also remember the L’Oréal Paris kids shampoo that was shaped like a fish. Because the brand has always been so significant to me, becoming a global ambassador feels full circle, and it’s such a pinch-me moment. I am so proud to be joining a brand that embodies the values that are important to me, and having the chance to be part of this is so exciting.

I love going to the drugstore! I could spend hours in there finding fun things. Aside from L’Oréal Paris makeup, I always find myself grabbing SPF, hair ties, and honestly, anything that catches my eye.

I have always loved going to Ferdi when I come to Paris, and every time I am in town I have to make sure I find myself a crepe.

I feel my most confident when I’m wearing a more natural makeup look. I like to emphasize glowing skin and a neutral lip. L’Oréal Paris Lumi Glotion is my favorite for that perfect and subtle glow.

Acne has always been something I’ve struggled with, and it has made me particular when it comes to the coverage-specific products I choose. These days I gravitate towards lightweight products, so I can really give my skin a chance to breathe.

I really am so lucky, and I have learned so, so much from the incredible makeup artists I’ve worked with over the years. I’ve learned so much about prep and hydration before applying makeup. Honestly, so much of makeup is what works on your face, personally. And for me, I love a good glow.

I’m all right, I’d say! Over time I have learned a lot about what works on my face from countless days on set. My makeup artist, Mary Phillips, has also taught me a lot. So, with time I’ve gotten decent at doing my makeup. I keep it very simple, though—it’s all about glowing skin and a good lip for me.

Ah, it’s impossible to choose a favorite—I’m big on both, depending on my mood. My favorite mascara from the brand is the L’Oréal Paris Original Telescopic Mascara—I’m obsessed with how it makes my lashes look. In terms of lipstick right now, my absolute favorite is the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Matte Resistance. It’s a liquid lipstick, and it’s so easy to wear, never smudges, and feels super hydrating—I love it.
